Vanessa Trump says she is cancer-free, six months after she announced her breast cancer diagnosis. She said it in a video her daughter, Kai Trump, shared on October 23, in Breast Cancer Awareness Month. “And it came back clear, so I am finally cancer-free,” she said in the clip, talking about her latest results. Kai is Donald Trump Jr.'s daughter and Vanessa's child with her ex-husband, and she opened the video by explaining that her mother was diagnosed in April. Also, the clip is just a preview of a longer video Kai plans to put on YouTube later that weekend.

Vanessa Trump Confirms Her Latest Results Came Back Clear After Months of Treatment

Vanessa first went public with the diagnosis on May 20, saying she was working with her medical team on a treatment plan. She thanked the doctors who performed a procedure earlier that week, and said she was staying hopeful with support from her children and family. Then in June she posted another update after four weeks of recovering from surgery. She was healing, she said, and getting ready to begin the second stage of treatment.

“I wanted to share an update on my cancer journey,” she wrote, adding that she was sending “love, strength, and hope to everyone fighting this battle.”

Her October announcement is the first major update about her own health since that June post. The new clip shows where her treatment stands a bit more clearly, because Vanessa confirms the clear results herself.

Kai Trump Plans a Longer Conversation About Breast Cancer Awareness and Early Detection

Kai also talked about her mother's recovery back in August, telling Fox News Digital that Vanessa was feeling much better after dealing with effects of treatment. “My mom, she's doing a lot better,” Kai said.

The YouTube video goes well beyond the short Instagram clip. Kai sat down with Vanessa and Dr. Nicole Saphier to go through the diagnosis, the treatment experience, breast cancer prevention and early detection. Kai used the announcement to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month too, which takes place every October.

The full conversation is scheduled for release on October 24, so mother and daughter get more time to talk about Vanessa's experience than the brief Instagram update allows.

Dr. Saphier also spoke about the value of public conversations around the disease. “The reason I like social media talking about breast cancer is because it is reminding people that it is common,” she said.
