Thea Hail posted a new Instagram video showing the hair loss from her alopecia areata, with multiple bald patches visible across her scalp. One of them has gotten noticeably bigger, and she also held up several strands that came out while she was filming. Hail first spoke publicly about the diagnosis in August 2026 and has been pretty open about it since. This latest clip gives fans a look at how things have changed over the past few months.
Thea Hail Shows Multiple Bald Patches And Reveals That Her Hair Loss Has Progressed
In the video, Hail goes through the areas where her hair has thinned instead of covering them up. The largest patch stands out the most, and the hair that fell out during filming is right there on camera.
Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks hair follicles and causes sudden hair loss.
The 23-year-old had already named her biggest patch Harold. She brought up the nickname on her YouTube channel and said it had started growing at a concerning rate.
“Fun fact, I have alopecia right now. I'm balding. It's like my favorite thing to talk about. So, his name is Harold. That's my bald spot,” Hail said.
She also said Harold was becoming easier to see, which hadn't happened to her earlier. Hail mentioned she's trying to cut inflammatory foods because they can bring on flare-ups, and that she's been stressed out.
She added that alopecia normally goes away and the hair comes back, but it can take around a year.
Thea Hail Has Been Away From WWE NXT Television After Her Championship Run
Hail joined WWE in 2022 and first got noticed as the energetic member of Andre Chase's Chase University faction. Her first big shot came at Great American Bash in 2023, when she challenged Tiffany Stratton for the NXT Women's Championship.
The first title win came later, on December 16, 2025, when she beat Blake Monroe to capture the NXT Women's North American Championship. It lasted only 21 days.
Monroe was supposed to be her challenger at NXT New Year's Evil in January 2026, but she got banned from the building before the match, and Izzi Dame stepped in and beat Hail to take title.
Hail was last seen on NXT television during the Women's Championship No. 1 Contender's Battle Royal, which Wren Sinclair won.
Since then she has kept working WWE live events, but hasn't shown up on TV, and her in-ring schedule there looks a bit different than before. There's no confirmed announcement on when she'll be back on NXT programming.
