Actor SJ Suryah is currently basking in the success of Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilpkumar's actioner 'Jailer 2', where he plays the villain.Interestingly, the 'Jailer 2' actor named Mamitha Baiju and Alia Bhatt as performers who stand out for their acting abilities. In a conversation with IndiaGlitz, he was asked to identify artists he considers ‘Nadippu Arakki’.

The Tamil phrase refers to actors with exceptional talent and a commanding screen presence.

In North, Alia Bhatt."Malayalam actor Mamitha Baiju has had a busy year appearing in several films that have drawn attention. She began 2026 with a role in director Vignesh Raja's 'Kara', which stars Dhanush and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead.Mamitha subsequently received appreciation for her performances in 'Bethlehem Kudumba Unit' and 'Vishwanathan and Sons'. Both films also performed well commercially. Mamitha Baiju also played opposite Thalapathy Vijay in the actioner 'Jana Nayagan'.

SJ Suryah plays antagonist in 'Jailer 2'

SJ Suryah is also appearing as the antagonist in Rajinikanth's 'Jailer 2'. Directed by Nelson Dilpkumar, the action drama arrived in theaters on Thursday, October 15.

The film recorded a strong opening at the domestic and international box offices.According to Sacnilk, 'Jailer 2' collected Rs 59.70 cr in India net earnings on its first day. Its India gross stood at Rs 70.25 cr, while overseas markets contributed Rs 55 cr. These figures took the film's worldwide gross to Rs 125.25 cr.

'Jailer 2' records strong opening-day numbers

The film registered an overall theater occupancy of 55.4% across its reported shows. It was screened in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, with the Tamil version contributing the largest share of domestic earnings.

The other language versions also contributed to the opening-day total.Sacnilk reported that the film played across 16,599 shows on its first day. Its reported footfalls reached 3,746,734. With India net collections crossing Rs 50 cr on opening day, 'Jailer 2' has made an impressive start commercially. On the other hand, there are also criticisms aimed at Mohanlal's limited cameo appearance in the multi-starrer project.
