The 2026 Asian Games edition in Aichi-Nagoya will draw to a close on October 4, Sunday.
The closing ceremony will formally bring down the curtains on the multi-nation event after 16 days of exhilarating action.
India moved up to fourth in the medal standings after its men’s hockey team won gold late Saturday. The country’s 21st gold medal helped it move above Uzbekistan on the tally.
Going into the final day of action, India will not be able to its add more medals to its tally.
Only two medal events under the Equestrian discipline — Jumping Individual Competition A and Competition B — will be held on October 4.
India did not have representation in either of the two events.
Therefore, India’s campaign at Aichi-Nagoya will conclude with 85 medals — 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze.
