Coronation Street and Emmerdale are off air tonight - but it's not all bad news

Translate

Last night's Coronation Street ended with a shocking stalemate between Bethany Platt and Jodie Ramsey, as both characters threatened to expose each other's dark secrets.

But fans will have to wait to see what happens next because neither Corrie nor Emmerdale will be on air tonight.

In a change to the regular schedule, the soaps have been removed from their daily 8pm (Emmerdale) and 8.30pm (Corrie) slots on ITV1, to make space for the UEFA Nations League.

The football match will see England playing against the Czech Republic (Czechia), with coverage airing from 7pm-10.05pm and kick off at 7.45pm.

Fortunately for soap fans, the disruption is only temporary and both shows will be back on our screens tomorrow. In even better news, we'll be getting another episode on Sunday night to make up for the recent schedule shake-ups on ITV1.

Upcoming episodes of Corrie will pick up from yesterday's dramatic cliffhanger, in which Bethany caught Jodie playing recordings of Harper's cries to gaslight Shona.

Though Bethany wanted to share the truth with her family, she discovered Jodie had also recorded a private conversation between her and Kit Green, revealing that they had slept together. The pair were left at a stalemate, with Jodie threatening to take Bethany down with her if she was exposed.

On Thursday night, viewers will see Jodie continuing her scheme to steal Shona's life, as she makes another move on her brother-in-law. When David vents his frustrations about his marriage, Jodie believes she has the green light to share her true feelings for him.

David admits he still thinks about their shocking kiss, leaving Jodie elated. But is his marriage actually over, or could he be planning his own scheme?

Coronation Street and Emmerdale air on weeknights on ITV1 and stream on ITVX.
