Lisa channels ‘Kill Bill’ in ‘Tarantino’ music video

As Lisa prepares to catch a flight, she picks up a mysterious letter in her lavish hotel room. Intruders suddenly saw through the door but Lisa quickly takes back control.

That’s the setup for Tarantino, Lisa’s new single and music video, where she plays a blonde, leather-clad action heroine who moves through the hotel with a cool, almost amused air as she throws her attackers aside. The video leans into a grainy film look, giving its polished pop staging the texture of a pulp movie discovered on an old reel.

The title points straight to filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, and Lisa has said the song takes inspiration from his work, especially Kill Bill. That influence is easy to spot in the video’s narrative framing and its stylish violence. Lisa’s character isn’t waiting to be rescued; she’s the reason the men coming through the door should have stayed outside.

The song keeps the mood strong and confident. Its lyrics reach for the language of cinema and action, while the repeated invitation to “press play“ connects the track to the larger concept of Lisa’s six-song EP by the same name. Each song, she has said, has its own character and story. Tarantino feels like the episode where the heroine finally gets the room to herself.

There’s also a little surprise for fans who have been following Lisa’s partnership with PlayStation. In the video, she signs a fan’s special-edition Lisa DualSense controller, bringing the collaboration into the story as a quick, knowing cameo. PlayStation had already used Tarantino in a campaign promoting the controller, giving fans an early preview of the track before its release.

Alongside Tarantino are 5 other punchy songs including the star hit SaWaDiKa, as well as V12, Cobra, Cut U Off and Sweat. Lisa has described the EP as a journey from her roots to where she is today, with Thai elements running through the project. Tarantino takes a different route through that cinematic world: all sharp edges, hotel-room suspense and a heroine who looks entirely at home in the chaos.

The result is Lisa leaning into the fun of playing a character. The grainy filter, the action-movie premise give fans plenty to catch on a rewatch. And if the hotel has another visitor waiting behind the next door, Lisa looks ready.
