Euromatch NPFL: Enyimba End Winless Run, Ikorodu City Down Rangers

Enyimba ended their winless run in the Nigeria Premier Football League ,NPFL, with a goalless draw against Kano Pillars in their Matchday Six fixture at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.

The result earned the nine-time champions their first point of the season after suffering defeats in their previous four outings.

Defending champions Rangers, meanwhile, suffered a 2-0 defeat to Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.

Aderemi Adeoye put Ikorodu City ahead after just eight minutes, before Ikechukwu Junior doubled the hosts’ advantage three minutes after the hour mark.

Plateau United climbed to second position on the table following a 2-0 victory over Inter Lagos at the New Jos Stadium.

Gideon Monday and Jibrin Ibrahim scored for Gbenga Ogunbote’s side to secure all three points.

At the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, Kun Khalifat FC recorded their first victory of the season with a narrow 1-0 win over Kwara United.

Igwe Igweuzo scored the decisive goal in the 64th minute.

Warri Wolves also secured a 1-0 victory over Shooting Stars, with Othuke Egbo scoring the only goal of the encounter in the eighth minute.

In Aba, Abia Warriors recorded the biggest win of the day, defeating Bendel Insurance 3-0.

Imama Amapakabo’s side took the lead through Ikoi Etta in the 16th minute, before experienced striker Emeka Obioma struck twice in the 24th and 40th minutes to complete a convincing victory for the hosts.

Elsewhere, Katsina United came from behind to defeat Doma United 2-1 at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.

Luis Dadong opened the scoring for Katsina United from the penalty spot after 12 minutes, but Sadiq Rilwan restored parity for the visitors three minutes after the half-hour mark.

Mukhtar Ismail then scored the winning goal 15 minutes from full time to hand Katsina United all three points.
