Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly expressed hope that Tanzania’s participation in the “Alamein-Africa Business Forum” would help expand mutual investment opportunities, noting Egypt’s strong interest in increasing Egyptian investments in Tanzania and the readiness of Egyptian companies to expand their presence in the Tanzanian market across various development sectors.

The Prime Minister made his remarks during a meeting with Tanzanian Vice President Dewa Mwakasege Ndejembi and his delegation on the sidelines of the forum, held in New Alamein under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

The talks focused on expanding cooperation in several areas, including investment, transport, ports, agriculture and healthcare. Madbouly said that Egypt is ready to share its expertise and support Tanzania in developing its ports and transport system, including the expansion of Dar es Salaam Port.

He also proposed exploring a joint agricultural project to reclaim land in Tanzania and expressed Egypt’s readiness to provide medical support, send medical convoys and train Tanzanian doctors in Egyptian hospitals.

The Prime Minister also outlined Egypt’s position on the Nile water issue, noting that Egypt has supported several development projects in the Nile Basin, including dams in Sudan and Uganda and, most recently, the Julius Nyerere Dam and Power Station in Tanzania. He stressed Egypt’s firm position on safeguarding its water rights.

For his part, the Tanzanian Vice President conveyed President Samia Suluhu’s greetings to President al-Sisi and stressed that Egypt and Tanzania enjoy historic and distinguished relations between their two peoples.

Ndejembi highlighted the Julius Nyerere Dam as one of the major development projects reflecting bilateral cooperation and praised the efforts and professionalism of the Arab Contractors and Elsewedy Electric consortium implementing the project.

He also expressed interest in benefiting from Egypt’s experience in transport and ports, particularly in expanding Dar es Salaam Port, with the Tanzanian transport minister set to visit Egyptian seaports.

The two sides also discussed expanding healthcare cooperation and training Tanzanian doctors in Egypt. Meanwhile, Egypt reaffirmed its support for sustainable development projects in the Nile Basin, stressing the importance of international law and mutual benefit among all basin countries.
