KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to address allegations of "corporate mafia" activities, including plans for a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI), and the status of investigations involving Felda in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Anwar is scheduled to respond to questions from Port Dickson member of Parliament Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun and Jelutong MP RSN Rayer on the alleged corporate mafia activities during Prime Minister's Question Time (PMQT) at 10am.

Aminuddin is seeking an update on the allegations and the action taken so far, while Rayer wants to know when the government plans to establish an RCI to investigate the alleged activities.

According to the Order Paper, Anwar will also address cases of alleged misappropriation, corruption and abuse of power involving Felda and its subsidiary, Felda Investment Corporation.

He is expected to provide an update on the investigations in response to a question from Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari.

Another question, from Bagan Serai MP Datuk Idris Ahmad, concerns the government's readiness to make merit-based appointments free from political influence a key principle in the governance of Lembaga Tabung Haji, in line with an RCI recommendation.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan is expected to outline the diplomatic assurances and mechanisms in place with Myanmar to ensure the safe and voluntary repatriation of Rohingya refugees.

In response to Jempol MP Datuk Shamshulkahar Mohd Deli, Mohamad is also expected to explain the government's efforts through Asean to address the root causes of the crisis and prevent it from recurring and burdening host countries.

Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, meanwhile, is scheduled to explain measures to address fertiliser delivery delays that have caused concern among paddy farmers.

He will also outline how the government intends to prevent the problem from recurring, in response to a question from Permatang Pauh MP Muhammad Fawwaz Mohamad Jan.
