Marcos declares special non-working days in 3 municipalities

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared special non-working days in three municipalities in the provinces of Quezon, Cagayan, and Sultan Kudarat for the month of August this year to allow the people to celebrate important occasions.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Proclamation No. 1391 was signed last August 17 while Proclamations Nos. 1393 and 1394 were signed last August 18. The proclamations were signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, with the authority of the President.

Proclamation No. 1391 declared August 26 as a special non-working day in Buenavista, Quezon to mark the municipality’s founding anniversary.

Under the Proclamation No. 1393, August 27 is a special non-working day in Alcala, Cagayan for the celebration of the Pasayak Festival. Pasayak is an Ilocano term for “irrigation.”
Lastly, Proclamation No. 1394 declared August 28 as a special non-working day in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat. The PCO noted that the declaration is also in line with the municipality’s founding anniversary and the Hamungaya Festival on August 30.
“It is but fitting and proper that the people be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” the proclamations said, as quoted by the PCO in a press release. /mr
