Habagat rains cause P56.53-M farm losses, P542-M infra damage in Bataan


BALANGA, Bataan — Three weeks of rain in Bataan province caused up to P56.53 million in crop losses affecting 2,490 farmers and fisherfolk across 1,752 hectares of farmland, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported Friday, Aug. 21.
Infrastructure damage amounted to P542.7 million.
Livestock losses were placed at P4.29 million, the PDRRMO said.

Authorities also recorded damage to 225 houses, of which 211 were partially damaged and 14 were destroyed.
