Juventus directors Giovanni Carnevali, Marco Ottolini and Giorgio Chiellini were in attendance for Italy’s recent 3-1 victory over Turkey in Bologna, and according to Wednesday’s reports, they were keeping a particularly close eye on midfielder Alessandro Romano.

Romano had been a relative unknown to the wider Serie A audience at the start of the 2026-27 season, but has since scored his first goal in the top flight, has switched international allegiances to make his Italy debut and is now being linked with moves to some of the league’s biggest clubs including Inter and Juventus.

Reports earlier this week claimed that the Nerazzurri are prepared to make Romano their priority midfield signing in the event that Hakan Calhanoglu leaves the club at the end of his contract next summer, whilst Wednesday’s reports from Tuttosport claim that Juventus have been directly monitoring the 20-year-old’s performances.

According to the latest update, Juventus CEO Carnevali, sporting director Ottolini and chief club affairs officer Chiellini watched Romano closely when they attended Italy’s 3-1 victory over Turkey at the Dall’Ara on Monday evening.

Tuttosport claims that Milan and Roma are also interested in the former Switzerland youth international.

Romano joined Cagliari on loan with an obligation to buy from Roma earlier this summer at a total cost of €6.5m.

Wednesday’s reports claim that Cagliari will not stand in the midfielders way if genuine cash offers in the region of €20m come in in the near future.
