AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey on Thursday announced discounted ticket arrangements for supporters of Kolkata clubs ahead of India’s high-profile international friendlies.

India will face Panama in Bengaluru on September 25 before playing Brazil on October 3 and Uruguay on October 6 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata.

Chaubey said the Indian Football Association (IFA) would coordinate ticket distribution for Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting. The three clubs will have dedicated ticket-sale areas at their respective premises, allowing members and supporters to collect tickets directly from their club grounds.

More than 14,000 seats in the B2 and D2 sections of the middle tier, situated behind the two goals, will be offered at discounted rates to IFA-registered clubs and Kolkata’s three major clubs.

The AIFF is also planning fan parks across different districts of West Bengal, where academy players and supporters unable to attend the matches in Kolkata can watch them together on large screens.

Chaubey also provided an update on preparations for the India-Brazil match. A five-member delegation from the Brazilian Football Confederation had earlier visited Kolkata to inspect the stadium and other facilities and gave positive feedback on the arrangements.

There had been concerns over the pitch after its heavy use during the Durand Cup and the monsoon season. Chaubey said the playing surface had since improved, while the two practice grounds beside the stadium were also being prepared for the match.
