11 Goals In One Half: Brommapojkarna Edge AIK 6-5 In Swedish Thriller

One of the wildest second halves in football history hardly seemed likely with the score locked at 0-0 at halftime between two mid-table teams in the Swedish league. When it was all over on Saturday after an 11-goal second half, Brommapojkarna emerged 6-5 winners against AIK, despite nearly throwing away a 5-1 lead before sealing victory with the final kick of the game. Mads Hansen scored the decisive goal in the ninth minute of stoppage time, just 90 seconds after AIK thought they had secured an unlikely point. Johan Hove's strike in the 97th minute had levelled the score for the first time since it was 1-1 in the 55th minute.
The game between the ninth and 11th-placed teams in the 16-team Allsvenskan was a rarity in European top-flight football.
Borussia Dortmund once scored 10 second-half goals in an 11-1 Bundesliga victory over Arminia Bielefeld in November 1982. It was a remarkable turnaround after the visitors had opened the scoring in the 16th minute.
In the Premier League in November 2009, Jermain Defoe scored a hat-trick in seven minutes on his way to netting five goals as Tottenham Hotspur struck eight times in the second half of a 9-1 victory over Wigan Athletic.
