We're just ordinary people / We don't know which way to go / 'Cause we're ordinary people / Maybe we should take it slow.

Maybe we'll live and learn / Maybe we'll crash and burn / Maybe you'll stay / Maybe you'll leave / Maybe you'll return / Maybe another fight / Maybe we won't survive / Maybe we'll grow / We'll never know. (Ordinary People, 2005)

Oh, I will stay with you / Through the ups and the downs / Oh, I will stay with you / When no one else is around / And when the dark clouds arrive / I will stay by your side / And I know we'll be alright / I will stay with you.

Save room for my love / Save room for a moment to be with me / Save room for my love, save a little / Save a little for me / Won't you save a little / Save a little for me - ohh / This just might / hurt a little / Love hurts sometimes, when you do it right / Don't be afraid of a little bit of pain.

If you hear this message, wherever you stand / I'm calling every woman, calling every man / We're the generation / We can't afford to wait / The future started yesterday and we're already late.

All of Me è una delle canzoni più famose di John Legend, una romantica dedica alla moglie Chrissy Teigen, terzo estratto dal quarto album in studio Love in the Future (2013).

'Cause all of me / Loves all of you / Love your curves and all your edges / All your perfect imperfections / Give your all to me / I'll give my all to you / You're my end and my beginning / Even when I lose, I'm winning.

Even when you're crying, you're beautiful too / The world is beating you down, I'm around through every mood / You're my downfall, you're my muse / My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues. (All of Me, 2013)

One day when the glory comes / It will be ours, it will be ours / Oh one day when the war is won / We will be sure, we will be sure.

Nel 2014 esce You & I (Nobody in the World), quarto singolo estratto dall’album Love in the Future.

Out of all of the girls, you're my one and only girl / Ain't nobody in the world tonight / All of the stars, you make them shine like they were ours / Ain't nobody in the world but you and I.

Love Me Now è il primo estratto dall'album Darkness and Light (2016), un brano che invita a vivere l’amore nel presente, accettando l’incertezza del futuro e mettendo al centro le persone che ci stanno accanto.

I don’t know who’s gonna kiss you when I’m gone / So I’m gonna love you now, like it’s all I have / I know it’ll kill me when it’s over / I don’t wanna think about it, I want you to love me now.

I know better / I know better / Legend is just a name / I know better than to be so proud / I won't dream in all this fame / I'll take more love than I'm allowed.

Oh, I'll rise from the floor if I don't win / I'll bust open that door so let me in / And if music chooses me to sing I let her / I'll sing what I know, yes. (I Know Better, 2016)

All that bubbly all that wine / Oh man look at the times / Didn't they notice, notice / Only future / I can see, ain't what it used to be / And I didn't know this, I didn't know this / Once you're above the city lights / Won't want to spend another night, down there on your own.

We will never break / We will never break / Built on a foundation / Strong enough to stay / We will never break / As the water rises / And the mountains shake / Our love will remain.
