2027: Lagos APC unveils team to mobilise non-indigene voters
Lagos State Deputy Chief of Staff, Sam Egube, has chaired the inaugural meeting of the All Progressives Congress Contact and Mobilisation Sub-Committee on Ethnic Nationality.
This is the first time the Lagos APC has established a dedicated sub-committee focused on ethnic nationality engagement as part of its campaign structure.
The team is responsible for reaching non-indigenous residents and various ethnic nationality groups in the state as the party campaigns for President Bola Tinubu, governorship candidate Dr Obafemi Hamzat, and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement to unveil the team on Tuesday, Egube said head of the sub-committee, he will coordinate members across the ethnic nationality groupings, guide engagement with community leaders and associations, and report relevant issues and progress to the wider campaign.
The team’s duties include building relationships with community associations, organising meetings, engaging voters in multiple languages, and addressing community-specific concerns.
“This assignment calls for more than bringing people into a room.
“For the first time, our campaign has a dedicated sub-committee to bring this work together. We need to listen carefully, build relationships with community leaders and associations, and understand the issues people want us to address.
“By doing that work well, we can play our part in securing victory for President Bola Tinubu, Dr Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates in 2027.
“Our inaugural meeting is the beginning of that work, and I look forward to working with every member of the sub-committee,” he added.
He said the Arewa members of the sub-committee are Alhaji Sampam Usman, Alhaji Saadu Yusuf, Ms Aisha Sanni Kachiako, Mr Jida Sayid, Mr Ibrahim Tanko Auna, and Mr Ibrahim Suleiman.
The South-South members are Otunba Engr. Isaac Emiyede, Mr Awila Banigo Williams, and Napoleon.
The Nupe members are Hon. Muhammad Kpatako and Mr Mohammed Kudu.
The Ndigbo members are former Lagos State Special Adviser Mr Joe Igbokwe, Chief Uche Okpotemba, Chief Uche Ubochi, Chief Anselem, and Ms Ngozi Chinwiko.
Before he was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Egube served as Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget. His professional background spans engineering, banking, and public service.
