Rod Wave Charts 16 Songs on Hot 100 From ‘Don’t Look Down,’ Surpasses 100 Career Entries

Rod Wave returns with a landmark week on Billboard’s charts (dated Sept. 12), thanks to his new album, Don’t Look Down.

Released Aug. 28 via Alamo Records, the set launches at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 99,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in its opening week, according to Luminate. It becomes his fourth career leader, following SoulFly (in 2021), Beautiful Mind (2022) and Nostalgia (2023).

Rod Wave also sends 16 of the album’s tracks onto the Billboard Hot 100, led by “Piece of Your Love,” which reenters at No. 40, and “Hustle,” which returns at No. 48, marking new highs for both.

With 14 debuts on this week’s Hot 100, Rod Wave increases his total to 107 career chart entries. He becomes the 24th artist in the chart’s history, which dates to 1958, to tally at least 100 entries, and the third this year, after J. Cole and Ariana Grande.

Of Rod Wave’s 107 Hot 100 hits, 19 have reached the top 40, led by his No. 11-peaking “Tombstone,” from SoulFly.

Thanks to their featured appearances on the album, Hazlett, Aimee Carty and Luv Von all earn their first career Hot 100 appearances. “2017 (Streamer U),” notably, samples Carty’s “2 Days Into College,” which nearly reached the Hot 100 in 2024, climbing to No. 5 on the Hot 100’s Bubbling Under ranking.
