Pertamina ramps up Bali fuel recovery, targets 48 million liters

Translate

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Pertamina Patra Niaga’s East Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara unit is stepping up efforts to restore fuel services in Bali by boosting supplies, preparing tanker fleets and staff, and regulating refueling.

“We are ensuring adequate supplies and operational support, and monitoring conditions so we can adjust our response as needed,” said Ahad Rahedi, the company’s communications, relations and CSR manager for the East Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara region.

The measures aim to maintain fuel availability and keep services running smoothly for the public, he said in a statement received here Saturday.

Pertamina aims for inventories at the Manggis terminal in Karangasem and Sanggaran fuel terminal in Denpasar to reach a combined 48 million liters by Oct. 17, enough for 14 to 15 days.

The company has deployed 108 fuel tankers, supported by 465 drivers and crew members, to ensure smooth distribution across Bali.

It has added 16 tankers to improve deliveries to gas stations, while Bali police are escorting fuel trucks to help ensure uninterrupted trips.

Sixty-six gas stations will operate 24 hours a day: 42 in Denpasar and 24 in Badung District. Another 100 personnel from the Udayana Regional Military Command IX will staff stations at night.

Under provincial government rules, refueling is capped at 20 liters for cars and three liters for motorcycles until conditions return to normal.

An odd-even license plate system will apply for three days, from Saturday, October 17, through Monday, October 19.

On Saturday, only vehicles with odd-numbered plates may refuel under Bali Governor I Wayan Koster’s directive.

“We understand how essential fuel services are. We urge residents to stay calm, buy only what they need and follow the rules. Cooperation will help services return to normal gradually,” Ahad said.
