ETimes review and rating

ETimes awarded 'Avaraachan & Sons' 2.5 stars out of 5. The review noted the film's occasional strengths while identifying issues with its pacing, character development and technical execution. The review stated, "Towards the end, there are slight issues with the over-dramatisation of what is more of a ‘post-climax’. A more toned-down take would have worked better. The film also subtly touches upon isolation and the loneliness of a widowed man, but thankfully, it is not used to justify Avaraachan. However, there are a lot of under-utilised plot points. The film remains very even throughout, moving with the flow without creating too many waves, but with occasional flashes of brilliance that elevate it. On the technical side, the film’s dialogues have slight issues in places, particularly with continuity, with some of the dialogues reduced to background mumbling.

Sajith Purushan’s cinematography is key in some of the later parts, and he has done a great job."On the other hand, up next, Biju Menon will be seen in an important role in the upcoming Jr NTR starrer 'Dragon'.
