Game of Thrones' final season was such a spectacular disaster in the eyes of fans, it's difficult to see how anyone would go about rectifying the sheer number of mistakes it made. At the same time, no matter how many petitions we get, the chances are that we'll never get to see an official, rectified version of the shows final throes.

That leaves us with other adaptations (of which there are many) in which we might finally get the chance to make a few things right, particularly around the narrative's conclusion. Now, one of those is about to come along, and it gives us the chance to finally see a fight that everyone was waiting for just about eight seasons to enjoy.

Jon Snow Vs The Night King

In case you haven't heard of it just yet, Game of Thrones: War for Westeros is an upcoming strategy game from developer Playside, where you control one of the great families of Westeros in the struggle for supremacy. Along the way you'll be fighting battles, engaging in political machinations, and destroying your foes.

In the game, you can play as either House Stark, the Lannisters, the Targaryens, or even the Night King and his hordes of undead forces. That means we finally have the chance to see Jon Snow (who features as a powerful character in the game) take on the Night King in a direct fight, rather than building up to it and have the latter die before they get the chance.

In fact, that actually happens in the reveal trailer for the game, when Jon finds himself on the receiving end of a bit of a one-sided fight, where he is eventually turned into one of the Night King's White Walker minions. Fans are already clearly looking forward to giving it a go for themselves, as many commented to say how cool it was to finally see that particular fight.

"The fight between Night King and Jon Snow looks epic here. It is what the show should've been instead of the disappointment we got," one comment read.

While another added, "At long last, we can fix the ending of Game of Thrones. The cinematic trailer gave us the duel the whole world had waited for."

"This is already better than Season 8 and you can actually see what’s going on when in episode 3 you couldn’t see anything because the showrunners thought it was a good idea to make the scenes really dark," a third said.

It's easy to see why there's so much hype around this Game of Thrones adaptation, as it really gives us the chance to right so many wrongs, and have a great time doing so. In even better news, we don't have too long to wait to see what the developer has been cooking up, with War for Westeros set to drop in the first few months of next year.
