Avery Styles has secured his first singles victory in TNA Wrestling, as he pinned Joe Alonzo with a Spiral Tap on the latest edition of Thursday Night Impact!. The win gives AJ Styles' son a positive result after his unsuccessful outing in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound for Glory. Avery is still in early stage of his professional wrestling career, since he made his debut earlier this year. He signed with TNA in August and has been appearing on its programming since Lockdown. Now the second-generation wrestler has his first singles win to put on his growing resume.

Avery Styles Uses the Spiral Tap to Defeat Joe Alonzo
Avery got the job done on Thursday Night Impact!, and it was a clean pinfall. So the first singles win in TNA is finally his.
His run with the promotion started in August, when TNA announced his appearance at Lockdown. Avery already wrestled several matches on the independent scene, but he was still in his first year as a professional wrestler. Then the signing put him in the mix on TNA programming very quickly. Every match of his gets watched closely, because the last name is a famous one.
Frankie Kazarian also became part of Avery's early journey in the promotion, offering to mentor the young wrestler after his arrival.
Avery Styles Says TNA Wrestling Is Important to His Family
Avery's signing was more than just a career announcement. During his appearance at Lockdown in August, he talked about the role TNA played in his family's story and why he wanted to continue his own journey there.
“You guys know what TNA means to me and my family and you guys also know AJ Styles wouldn't be who he is today, without TNA. And Avery Styles won't become who he's gonna be without TNA. So I'm here to announce that I'm officially signed with TNA Wrestling,” he said.
His father, AJ Styles, joined TNA in 2002 and stayed with the promotion until 2014, when he left for New Japan Pro Wrestling. AJ became one of the company's leading names and had memorable feuds with Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and Sting.
AJ retired from in-ring competition in February after losing to Gunther at the Royal Rumble earlier this year. He has kept making appearances at independent wrestling shows to support Avery during his matches.
With Avery now holding his first TNA singles victory, the focus shifts to what comes next for him under the promotion led by Carlos Silva.
