Sofia Hasmik, Grace Kelly Quigley & Imogen Waterhouse Leading Indie Feature ‘Sissy’

Translate

EXCLUSIVE: Sofia Hasmik (Superman & Lois), Grace Kelly Quigley (Physical) and Imogen Waterhouse (The Buccaneers) have been cast in writer-director Dejan Mrkic’s debut indie feature, Sissy.

Mrkic is directing from his own original script and will co-produce the film alongside his producing partner, Javier Gonzalez. Gonzalez recently took home the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival for In the Summers, and his previous producing credits include A24’s Funny Pages and the IFC Midnight thriller Swallow.

The synopsis reads: “Set over one relentless night, the sibling thriller follows Kim (Hasmik), an aging porn star who takes unexpected custody of her abandoned 11-year-old half-sister, Franki (Quigley). Together, they must navigate a perilous Los Angeles maze, running straight into the chaotic orbit of a notorious Hollywood horror producer.”

Lensing the project is cinematographer Hayden Mason, fresh off the Chloë Sevigny-produced documentary Summer Tour, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival.

Superman & Lois star Hasmik’s recent credits include The Pitt and Netflix comedy Tires. Quigley is best known for her role as Maya Rubin opposite Rose Byrne in three seasons of the Apple TV+ dark comedy Physical. She is coming off the Sundance-winning feature Josephine and will next be seen playing Mila Kunis’ daughter in the upcoming film Nightwatching. Waterhouse stars in her third season of Apple TV+’s The Buccaneers and previously led The CW’s The Outpost, where she also directed three episodes.

Hasmik is represented by Anonymous Content, Global Artists Agency, and the law firm Myman Greenspan Fox; Quigley is represented by The Osbrink Agency and Monster Talent Management; and Waterhouse is represented by Margit Polak Management and Verve as well as United Agents in the UK.
