The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a show cause order (SCO) against the driver and operator of a passenger jeepney that was involved in a collision with two motorcycle riders on Friday, October 2, 2026 in Marilao, Bulacan.

The incident occurred in front of the Ningnangan Restaurant in Barangay Saog, Marilao Crossing, McArthur Highway, Marilao, Bulacan.

According to the Facebook page "My Ride PH," the video shows a passenger jeepney speeding before suddenly moving into the opposite lane of the road. As a result, it collided with two motorcycles that were in their correct lane heading south.

LTO Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao ordered an investigation of the incident to identify the driver and operator of the jeepney for proper action.

The SCO required the jeepney driver and operator to submit their sworn statement, relevant documents and evidence that may explain or support their side at the Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) ng LTO Central Office on October 13, 2026.

The LTO said the driver is facing an allegation of reckless driving and may lose his license if it is proven that he is an Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle.

The jeepney operator, meanwhile, faces the allegation of Employing Reckless, Insolent, Discourteous or Arrogant Drivers.

They both are facing allegations related to the charge of Operating the Unit/s with Defective Parts and Accessories.

The drive is expected to surrender his license and be under a 90-day preventive suspension while an investigation of the incident is ongoing while the vehicle is under an alarm status.

“Hindi katanggap-tanggap ang ganitong uri ng pagmamaneho, lalo na kung may nalalagay na buhay sa panganib. Ipinag-utos ko ang agarang imbestigasyon at nararapat na aksyon laban sa mga responsable. Kung mapatutunayang may paglabag, pananagutin natin sila alinsunod sa batas,” Lacanilao said.

(This type of driving is unacceptable, especially when it puts lives at risk. I have ordered an immediate investigation and appropriate action against those responsible. If violations are proven, we will hold them accountable according to the law.) — BAP, GMA News
