New favourite emerges for Crystal Palace job amid Pierre Sage sack threat

Translate

Crystal Palace’s slow start to the Premier League season is fuelling speculation that there will be a managerial change at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles are 17th in the Premier League table after seven games, while their maiden Europa League campaign has produced one win, one draw, and one loss in three fixtures.

As such, the market for the next Crystal Palace manager is already taking shape. Following recent reports, BetVictor have given ex-Burnley, Everton, and Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche 1/2 odds of replacing Sage in the Selhurst Park dugout.

Dyche has been out of work since leaving Forest in February 2026, when he was dismissed with the Tricky Trees sat in 17th.

Thomas Frank, another unemployed manager who most recently worked in the Premier League this year, is second favourite, with a price of 3/1 at the time of writing.

Lauded for his work at Brentford, Frank made the step up to Tottenham ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, only to suffer a dismal period that culminated in his sacking after just two wins in 17 Premier League games.

Robbie Keane, tipped for the Celtic job in the summer before Martin O’Neil was appointed on a permanent basis, is priced at 10/1, better odds than a cohort of ex-Premier League bosses.

McKenna led Ipswich Town back to the Premier League but quit ahead of the new season, while Howe mutually agreed to depart Newcastle late into the summer. Edwards was appointed as Wolves boss during their beleaguered relegation campaign, seemingly with the intention of rebuilding in the Championship, but was shockingly sacked on the eve of the new campaign.

Next Permanent Crystal Palace Manager

Sean Dyche: 1/2

Thomas Frank: 3/1

Robbie Keane: 10/1

Kieran McKenna: 12/1

Eddie Howe: 12/1

Rob Edwards: 12/1
