Translate

Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade and six other players have joined the team’s camp in Ikenne-Remo ahead of Friday’s 2028 Olympic qualifying first leg against Comoros, taking the number of players in camp to 21.

Ajibade was joined by defender Michelle Alozie, midfielders Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne and Jennifer Echegini, as well as forwards Folashade Ijamilusi and Janet Akekoromowei.

Five more players — goalkeepers Chiamaka Nnadozie and Comfort Erhabor, and forwards Gift Monday, Joy Omewa and Uchenna Kanu — are expected to arrive by Tuesday evening.

The encounter, originally scheduled to be played in Comoros, will now hold at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne-Remo, on Friday, with kick-off fixed for 6pm.

CAF has appointed Rwandan referee Henriette Byukusenge to officiate the match. She will be assisted by compatriots Sandrine Murangwa and Regine Mukayiranga, while Aline Umutoni will serve as fourth official.

Namibia’s Fransiska Katjaimo will be the referee assessor, while Burkina Faso’s Oumou Sy has been appointed match commissioner.

Meanwhile, the Comoros women’s national team arrived in Ijebu-Ode on Monday night and were scheduled to hold their first training session in Ikenne-Remo on Tuesday evening.

The Falcons held their training session on Monday with players including Christiana Uzoma, Farida Abdulwahab, Sandra John, Tumininu Adeshina, Valentina Uroko, Glory Edet, Shukurat Oladipo, Glory Ogbonna, Favour Omenazu, Joy Igbokwe, Fatimoh Solaty and Suliat Abideen also in camp.
