The Niger State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2027 election Muhammad Nami has redeemed  his pledge to the 38 families affected in the miners deaths.

Nami gave out N15million and a motocycle to each of the deceased family of the 38 illegal miners who died in the detention facility of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The donation was made through the Niger South Foundation, a non-governmental organisation as part of his humanitarian efforts to support vulnerable members of society.

The donated funds and motorcycles were presented to the affected families by a delegation led by Nami’s Deputy Governorship Candidate in the Niger State governorship race, Dahiru Abdul, who represented Nami at the event.

Abdul, in his presentation, called on the bereaved families to take heart and remain strong despite the painful loss of their loved ones.

He said the intervention was aimed at showing solidarity with the affected families and providing support at a difficult time.

Chairman of the Niger South Foundation, Dr Muhammed Shabba, in his remarks said the organisation was committed to supporting vulnerable members of society, particularly those facing hardship due to unforeseen circumstances.

Shabba noted that the donations by the PDP candidate reflected the foundation’s concern for the welfare of the affected families and its determination to provide practical assistance to  ease their difficulties.

“The Niger South Foundation was established by Muhammad Nami about 20 years ago as part of his humanitarian efforts to support vulnerable members of society.

“The donated N15 million and 38 motorcycles are expected to provide some relief to the beneficiaries as they continue to cope with the consequences of the tragedy.

“The donations reflected the foundation’s concern for the welfare of the affected families and its determination to provide practical assistance to help ease their difficulties,” he said.
