Sunil Chhetri assisted Vinith Venkatesh in the dying moments of the match as Bengaluru FC salvaged a point against NorthEast United in their Indian Super League (ISL) 2026-27 match here on Friday.

Jithin MS opened the scoring in the first half, but Chhetri, India’s record goalscorer, came off the bench to set up Venkatesh for the equaliser in a 1-1 draw at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium. It was the second time in three games that the Blues made a comeback into a match twice.

The draw meant both teams continued their unbeaten run in the league, with Bengaluru second in the standings with seven points, while the Highlanders lead with eight, having played a game more.

NorthEast United and Bengaluru will both head for Goa for their next matches, with Juan Pedro Benali’s side taking on Churchill Brothers on November 5, while the Blues will face FC Goa a day later at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao.
