Jennifer Lawrence reunites with director as she returns to streamer for new rom-com

Jennifer Lawrence will be working with a familiar face on her new rom-com One Month Mark. The project, which was announced in June, will be produced by Apple Studios, after a huge bidding war.
Now, Deadline reports that Gene Stupnitsky is in final negotiations to direct the film, after working with Lawrence on No Hard Feelings.

The publication adds that the search for a director was "thorough," with the actress pushing for Stupnitsky as "the two had wanted to work together again and Lawrence felt he was the perfect fit."
One Month Mark's logline reads: "She has never made it past a month in a relationship. He has never gone longer than a month without one." The script was penned by upcoming writer Sophie Fleur de Bruijn.
Chernin Entertainment’s David Ready and Peter Chernin will serve as producers with Lawrence and her producing partner Justine Ciarrocchi also producing for Excellent Cadaver. De Bruijn and Brady Fujikawa will serve as Executive Producers.
Deadline previously described the race to win the rights to One Month Mark as an auction "unlike anything Hollywood had seen post-strike, not only because of the amount of producers chasing but also the secrecy going into it".
It has already been hailed as "one of the best rom-com scripts in years". Lawrence previously worked with Apple Studios on 2022 film Causeway.
Meanwhile Lawrence also recently signed on to star in The Flood, the latest project from Weapons writer-director Zach Cregger. The film is said to be a thriller with sci-fi elements, though little is known about the actual plot.

Announcing Lawrence's casting, Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, co-chairs of Warner Bros Pictures, said: "Jennifer Lawrence is one of the most gifted and compelling actors working today, and we are thrilled to have her at the centre of Zach's bold and wholly original vision for The Flood."
Cregger himself described the actress as "one of a kind," adding he was "beyond excited to see her in this role."
Lawrence is also set to star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Mads Mikkelsen in Martin Scorsese's upcoming Gothic horror What Happens at Night.
