Israeli journalists attacked in N. Ireland while filming documentary on antisemitism - interview

A crew from i24NEWS' Hebrew channel was attacked over the weekend in Belfast, Northern Ireland, while filming for a documentary series on Europe's rising antisemitism.

i24NEWS reporter Yonatan Raveh and cameraman Nadav Abbas were conducting street interviews near a well-known bar complex when a man, realizing they were from an Israeli network, began harassing them.

According to footage of the incident shared by i24NEWS on its social media, the man shouted "f*** Israel," attempted to grab Raveh and Abbas' camera equipment, and made inappropriate gestures towards the camera.

Raveh and Abbas attempted to withdraw from the situation before its escalation, calling for police or security from any of the nearby establishments to intervene while the man followed them threateningly. 

In response, the man threw a large glass beer mug at Abbas, hitting him in the head and cutting it. 

The crew eventually managed to leave the scene, cleaning the cut at one of the nearby bars, and after ensuring Abbas did not need further medical attention, the crew returned to Israel safely.
