Seahawks release second injury report for Week 5 vs. 49ers

Translate

The Seattle Seahawks published their second injury report for Week 5's game against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday afternoon. Bob Condotta posted it on X at 3:54 p.m. PDT.

Defensive tackle Leonard Williams did not practice Thursday after participating in limited capacity on Wednesday. He injured his ankle in Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Chargers. There's no known reason for the midweek worsening, but he only has Friday's practice to make it back to game-ready. The Seahawks do often purposefully rest him and other veteran players with heavy workloads. It also doesn't hurt to keep the 49ers guessing. Even if Williams can't go, fellow defensive tackles Byron Murphy II, Jarran Reed and Rylie Mills are all in great form.

Linebacker Chazz Surratt did not participate in practice for the second straight day because of a calf injury he suffered in Sunday's win. One fellow linebacker, Tyrice Knight, practiced in full after being limited with an ankle injury on Wednesday. Another linebacker, Patrick O'Connell, practiced in full for the second straight day despite a thumb injury. Starting linebacker Ernest Jones IV practiced in limited fashion for rest purposes despite having no injury designation. He's played 259 of 261 snaps this season and will continue to see nearly every snap on Sunday.

Safety Ty Okada practiced in full for the second time this regular season after the first came Wednesday. He suffered a hamstring injury while preparing for Week 1. It has kept him out since. If he practices in full again Friday, that would be a full week. He could realistically be ready to make his season debut Sunday.

Running back Zach Charbonnet is still practicing in limited capacity. He practiced last Thursday for the first time since his season-ending knee injury in February. Everyone in the revamped running back room will need to fight to keep their roles once he can suit up again. Fellow running back George Holani was limited again because of a rib injury.

Wide receiver Irv Charles was limited for the second straight day. The Seahawks designated him for return to practice on Wednesday after placing him on injured reserve with a knee injury on Aug. 31. Given Friday would only be his first time fully participating this season, it's unlikely he makes his Seahawks debut Sunday.

Cornerback Julian Neal was added to the report with a hamstring injury and practiced in limited fashion. Cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett was limited with an ankle injury for the second straight day. Guard Beau Stephens returned to full participation after being limited with a knee injury Wednesday. Finally, wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba rested Wednesday but returned in full on Thursday.
