The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Monday assured public school teachers that there would be no unnecessary delays in releasing their performance-based bonus (PBB) for the fiscal year 2024, saying it was moving to expedite the processing of the incentives.
According to the DBM, it is awaiting receipt of the Department of Education’s (DepEd) report on ranking of officers or delivery units, which identifies officials and employees eligible for the FY 2024 PBB.
“Upon receipt of DepEd’s complete and accurate submission, the DBM will immediately review and process the necessary Special Allotment Release Order and Notice of Cash Allocation, consistent with applicable rules and procedures,” it said in a statement.
“We assure our beloved teachers that there will be no unnecessary delay on the part of the DBM,” it assured.
The statement was released a day after World Teachers’ Day, and follows a directive from Malacañang ordering the expeditious processing of the FY 2024 PBB for public school teachers.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. approved the release of the FY 2024 PBB for qualified government agencies and employees in July, as provided under the FY 2026 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
The PBB acts as an incentive on top of standard across-the-board benefits like the Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI), midyear/yearend bonuses, and the annual cash gift. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/RF, GMA News
