KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 12 — KLIA Ekspres services between the city and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) were disrupted this morning after a cable cut.

The operator attributed the incident to vandalism, affecting the line between Putrajaya & Cyberjaya and Salak Tinggi stations.

In a service update at 6am, KLIA Ekspres said a combined train service would remain in effect until further notice. From 5am, trains ran every 20 minutes from both KL Sentral and KLIA Terminal 2 (T2), stopping at all stations.

The operator said its technical team was working to rectify the fault and restore normal services as soon as possible. Passengers were advised to check with station personnel for the latest updates and assistance.

At 9.30am, KLIA Ekspres announced that connecting shuttle train services had begun between the affected stations. Shuttle services from KL Sentral to Putrajaya & Cyberjaya Station started at 9.20am, while those from KLIA T2 to Putrajaya & Cyberjaya Station began at 9.10am. Trains ran every 15 minutes in both directions.

In a further update at 11.20am, the operator said it had resumed running a combined service from both KL Sentral and KLIA T2, with trains running every 20 minutes and stopping at all stations.

Passengers were again advised to refer to station personnel for the latest information.

KLIA Ekspres apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked passengers for their patience and understanding. No timeline was given for the restoration of normal services.
