7 Coronation Street spoilers for tonight as Gail speaks out on Sarah's trial

Coronation Street spoilers follow from Friday's episode (16 October), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't aired on ITV1 yet.
In tonight's Coronation Street, there's another dramatic day in court as Sarah's trial continues – and David lets us all know what Gail makes of the whole fiasco.
Meanwhile, Nick starts to lose hope for the Bistro's future, and Ken inspires Daniel to take on a new mission.
Read on for seven big moments from tonight's episode…
1. David's been in touch with Gail

Gail hasn't bothered returning to Weatherfield to support Sarah through her murder trial – but turns out she's keeping tabs on the court proceedings, as David reveals that he's been speaking to his mum on the phone to keep her up to date.
Much to David's annoyance, Gail seems to blame him for the whole catastrophe. "Because none of this would have happened if I'd kept an eye on things," David moans. (Sadly, we don't see Gail!)
2. Gary gives evidence

Gary is the latest witness called to give evidence and staunchly defends Sarah while being questioned by the defence barrister.
Just when things seem to be going well, though, the prosecution try to trip him up.
3. Kit makes a last-minute appearance

Kit crumbles under pressure from Bethany, who insists that he owes it to Sarah to head to court and act as a character witness in her favour. As Kit is taking a day off chemotherapy, Bethany reckons he has no excuse not to attend.
When Kit arrives in court as the surprise final witness, everyone is shocked by what he has to say!
4. Idris's goading starts to affect Nick

Idris taunts Nick about how his life seems to be a mess – not only is Sam choosing not to confide in him about the online bullying, but the Bistro is struggling badly after a string of negative reviews.
Toyah is ready to keep fighting against Idris and Leanne, but she's surprised when Nick seems to be losing hope that they can turn around the Bistro's fortunes.
5. Debbie suffers another setback

Debbie tries to get her marriage back on track after her mistaken suspicions that Ronnie is having an affair.
She arranges for them to enjoy the hotel's honeymoon suite for Ronnie's birthday. However, when her hubby arrives with an overnight bag, Debbie soon realises that she's made a mistake by double-booking the suite.
6. Ross struggles to exert influence over Tyrone

Ross takes Tyrone and Dorin to a boxing gym and enjoys reconnecting with his roots.
However, when Ross suggests making this a weekly tradition, he's annoyed that Tyrone doesn't seem interested.
7. Daniel has a new cause to champion

Daniel is disappointed after Mrs Crawshaw refuses to consider him for the school's Head of English position.
It's clear that Daniel needs something positive to focus on after everything that happened with Megan, so Ken suggests he should start a campaign to prevent some of the school ground being sold off to developers.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
