Kit Connor & Diana Silvers To Star In “Preppy Killer” Pic ‘PRƎPPY’ For STX, Aggregate; Janicza Bravo Directing

EXCLUSIVE: Fresh off his casting as Cyclops in Marvel’s new X-Men movie, Kit Connor has inked a deal to star opposite Diana Silvers (Booksmart) in PRƎPPY, a true-crime flick to be directed for STX Entertainment and Aggregate Films by Janicza Bravo.

Based on an original screenplay by David Levine and Rose Lichter-Marck, PRƎPPY explores the summer of 1986 leading to the murder of recent high school graduate Jennifer Levin at the hands of Robert Chambers, a former Manhattan private-school student, in New York’s Central Park. The shocking crime — in which Chambers was dubbed the “Preppy Killer” — captivated a generation and put privilege, class, and sex on trial.

Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan, and John Buderwitz will produce for Aggregate, with Peter Coleman and Paula Manzanedo producing for STX. Bravo — a filmmaker known for her work on the films Zola and Lemon and the BBC One series The Listeners — will also produce.

A fast-rising English actor, Connor won a Children’s and Family Emmy for his starring turn in the hit Netflix series Heartstopper, as well as a British Independent Film Award for his performance in A24’s Warfare. Next up, he’ll be seen starring in Andrew Haigh’s A Long Winter, plus Alex Garland’s big-budget take on the Elden Ring video games for A24. He is repped by WME, Independent Talent Group, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.

Silvers is known for her work in films like Olivia Wilde’s directorial debut Booksmart and the Octavia Spencer horror film Ma, as well as series such as Netflix’s Space Force and The Abandons. Most recently, she wrapped a role opposite Richard Gere in Ed Zwick’s Asymmetry, a feature adaptation of the novel by Lisa Halliday. She is repped by WME, Entertainment 360, and Jackoway Austen.

Coming off a DGA Award nomination for her work on FX’s The Bear, Bravo is repped by WME, Entertainment 360, and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols.

Bateman and Aggregate are coming off Emmy nominations for HBO’s DTF St. Louis, the darkly comedic miniseries from Steven Conrad. Bateman was also recognized this year for his work on the Netflix series Black Rabbit, as both director and star opposite Jude Law.

STX Entertainment, meanwhile, most recently financed and teamed with Maven Screen Media to produce Happy Hours, a New York-set romantic drama from actor-filmmaker Katie Holmes that premiered at the 2026 Tribeca Festival.
