Man 'stabbed partner 70 times in her London home then turned knife on her daughter'

A man stabbed his partner 70 times and turned the knife on her daughter as she tried to stop the “murderous attack”, a court has heard.

Alan Dore, 48, is accused of killing grandmother Samantha Turner, 52, in her own home in Shepherd’s Bush, west London, on August 18.

Ms Turner’s 32-year-old daughter Keeley Turner was stabbed twice when she tried to intervene, it is alleged.

Details of the incident emerged when Dore appeared at the Old Bailey charged with murder and attempted murder on Monday.

Prosecutor Philip McGhee said the allegations in the case involved a “murderous attack” and a knife in a “domestic setting”.

Keeley Turner had been upstairs at the family home in Askew Road when she heard her mother scream and went downstairs, the court heard.

When she tried to stop the defendant, he stabbed her first to the abdomen and then to her back, Mr McGhee said.

She called 999 at 8.19am to report that her mother had been stabbed, saying: “Hurry up man, he’s going to kill her.”

Her mother was found with multiple stab wounds and lying in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor.

She was pronounced dead at the scene at 8.54am.

Dore, who had been in a relationship with Samantha Turner for about a year and lived nearby, was arrested in a bedroom of the property.

Mr McGhee told the court that a post-mortem examination identified around 70 sharp force injuries to her body which were allegedly inflicted with “severe force”.

Keeley Turner remains in hospital although her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Dore appeared in court by video-link from Wandsworth prison and spoke to confirm his identity.

Judge Simon Mayo KC set a timetable for the case with a plea hearing on November 9 and a provisional three-week trial from May 17 next year.
