Makers end confusion over 'Ramayana: Part One' release date, say ‘Yeh Ram ke Yug ka Aarambh hai’ as new poster with Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi arrives

The makers of Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana: Part One’ have cleared up the confusion around its release date. The film will open in cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2026, across all premium formats.

The announcement was made on Instagram on Sunday, October 11.

Makers announce the date with a new poster

Along with a fresh poster featuring the lead cast, the team wrote, “On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, we celebrate the beginning of a new era. Yeh Ram ke Yug ka Aarambh hai. Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana Part 1: In cinemas WORLDWIDE, across all premium formats, from 5th November. Advance bookings open on Dussehra.”

Why there was confusion

The announcement follows mixed signals about the date. The international trailer, distributed by Sony Pictures, had earlier mentioned November 6 as the worldwide release.

Producer Namit Malhotra, on the other hand, had said the film was aiming for a Diwali release in India. Some reports also claimed that the film could reach Indian theatres on November 5, with paid previews on November 4. The latest update settles the matter by confirming November 5 as the worldwide date, with advance bookings starting on Dussehra.

Cast and production

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the film is among the most awaited Indian releases of the year. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi is Sita, Yash plays Ravana, Sunny Deol is Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey plays Lakshman.

The film is made by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. It is planned as a two-part epic.

Release plans for both parts

‘Part 1’ will arrive this year, while ‘Part 2’ is scheduled for Diwali 2027. Both films will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam and will also be available in IMAX.Sony Pictures will distribute the film globally, except in India, where Dharma Productions will handle the Hindi-speaking market.
