Alex Iwobi was the hero for struggling Fulham, as his strike secured a 1-0 home win against Hull City and also clinched a first Premier League win this season.

Iwobi’s 33rd minute goal was enough to not only secure the three points but move them up to 15th on five points.

Also in action in the game were Calvin Bassey who captained Fulham and Semi Ajayi for Hull City.

Heading into the fixture Fulham had failed to win any of their six matches – drawing two and losing four.

At the Etihad, Manchester City bounced back from their UEFA Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain to edge out Brentford 3-2.

The win means Enzo Maresca has become the first manager to win all seven of his first Premier League games in charge.

City, now on 21 points, temporarily go six points clear of reigning champions Arsenal who will be guests to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

In another Premier League clash, Liverpool came from a goal down to beat 10-man Brentford 2-1 away.

The Reds climb up to fifth place on 12 points in the league table, thanks to the important win against Brentford.
