Ryan Gosling’s Band Dead Man’s Bones Tease New Music After 17 Years

Translate

Ryan Gosling may be resurrecting his long-dormant musical project Dead Man’s Bones just in time for Halloween. The actor’s folk-rock duo with Zach Shields have hinted at their first new material in 17 years, with an announcement seemingly slated for later this month.

The speculation began when Gosling’s partner, Eva Mendes, shared an Instagram post featuring the band’s music alongside the teasing remark, “Sure wish they had new music coming out…” She then fueled the excitement further by sharing another post in which she wrote, “He came through on his promise to me.” Meanwhile, Dead Man’s Bones have also hinted at an announcement for October 27th, although the extent of their return remains unclear.

Formed out of Gosling and Shields’ shared fascination with the supernatural, the two-piece released their self-titled debut in 2009, with its eerie blend of gothic folk and theatrical rock developing a cult following of sorts.
