‘Saturday Night Live’: Jalen Brunson’s Knicks Teammates Join Him During Opening Monologue

Saturday Night Live kicked off its 52nd season with a victory lap for Knicks fans, as host Jalen Brunson was joined onstage by his teammates.

The 2026 MVP swapped some quips with teammates Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Josh Hart during his opening monologue on Saturday’s episode, which comes after they defeated the San Antonio Spurs in June to bring the Knicks their first NBA Championship win since 1973.

Calling on the group during his monologue, Brunson confirmed to Towns you can’t “foul out of SNL,” to which the center, forward excitedly responded, “So I could be here like the whole show? Nice!”

Bridges asked if his arms were “pretty long,” as Brunson validated he has a “great wingspan.” Bridges responded, “Yet, I’ll never fly.”

Anunoby asked, “Remember in Game 4, when you took that shot at the end and missed it? Remember what happened after?”

“Yeah, you tipped it in,” said Brunson, as Anunoby replied with a laugh, “Oh yeah, that was awesome.”

Meanwhile, Hart asked if it was true that Brunson “took a $113 million pay cut just to re-sign with the Knicks,” which point guard confirmed is true. “Wow. So, is that money still up for grabs?” asked Hart.

“I don’t know. But I do have a question for you. Why did you do this to me at the Cup Ceremony?” asked Brunson, playing a clip of Hart poking him in the butt as the team celebrated their win.

Hart exclaimed, “Because it was funny!”

Saturday Night Live kicked off its 52nd season this weekend with host Brunson and musical guest Katseye. The season continues on NBC with guest hosts Dakota Johnson, Shane Gillis and Inde Navarrette, along with musical guests Turnstile, Rosalía and Gracie Abrams.
