Yashasvi Jaiswal recorded a century for India A on day four of the second unofficial Test against New Zealand A at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Tuesday.
The opener completed his 18th First-Class century to help the visitor overcome the first-innings deficit and push India A to a good score in the second innings.
Play started after a delay of 100 minutes on the final day of the match and India A was left reeling when Sai Sudharsan and Devdutt Padikkal both departed early.
Jaiswal scored quickly against the Kiwi bowlers, making use of his feet well to negate any movement. Runs came quickly in his partnership with Yash Rathod and the two quickly wiped off the deficit before putting the side on track for a big total.

Jaiswal had been short of runs in the longest format of the game. He failed to score even a fifty in the Test series in Sri Lanka and was dismissed for nought in the sole Ranji Trophy match he played this season.
He registered scores of 17 and 5 in the first unofficial Test and also fell cheaply in the first innings of the ongoing contest in Christchurch.
India will hope he can carry forward the newfound momentum into the two-Test series starting against New Zealand in a few days time.
