Travis Kelce Reveals How Marriage To Taylor Swift Is Changing The Holidays As The Couple Prepares For Their First Christmas

Travis Kelce does not wait for December. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end told Women's Wear Daily his Christmas starts as soon as the tree goes up, and this year it comes with a new title. He and Taylor Swift married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden, so this will be their first holiday as husband and wife. Kelce, 37, made the comments while promoting Tommy Hilfiger's holiday campaign, The Perfect Holiday, which launched November 5. He says the plan is to keep the traditions he grew up with and add a few of their own.

Travis Kelce on his first Christmas as a married man

Kelce did not hide it. “I'm excited for my first holiday as a married man,” he told WWD, then explained how he wants to approach it. “I love all the old traditions and can't wait to start some new ones,” he said, adding, “I start celebrating as that tree goes up.”

One of the old ones is Donna Kelce's blueberry muffins.

He mentioned them in an Instagram video for the brand, then asked, half joking, whether Tommy Hilfiger makes Christmas onesies.

The brand has been part of his year since March, when it named him a global ambassador and creative collaborator. He appeared in its fall 2026 campaign before joining the winter one, which also features Jisoo, Arón Piper, Quenlin Blackwell, Josh Hart and several Liverpool FC players.

On her side, Swift grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania, and in a 2013 interview she said she enjoyed the excitement around Christmas, especially exchanging gifts. Neither of them needs convincing on when to start.

How this Christmas differs from last year

Last year the two spent the holidays as an engaged couple, and sources called it “low-key, family-centric.” An inside source told Us Weekly why. “Travis fits right in with her family, and Taylor adores [his mom] Donna. They talk all the time,” the source said. “They make sure to see both sides as often as they can. They are super family-oriented, and they have always loved that about one another.”

Now there is a wedding behind them.

Kelce has talked about it mostly in terms of the people in the room. “It was the best night of my life,” he has said, per People. “Marrying Taylor was more than I could have ever dreamed it to be because of all the people that showed up, and the amount of, you know, love that was in the air.”

The couple has also welcomed a dog named Wendy, so the holiday guest list has one more name on it.
