Scream Gets a 30th Anniversary 4K Box Set Worth Screaming About

On December 20th, 1996, director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson rewrote all the rules for horror with the ever-so-slightly meta Scream. Now, an Amazon-exclusive 4K Ultra HD box set is poised to come out almost exactly 30 years later — the perfect holiday present for the Ghostface fan in your life.
Here’s the official description of the movie, courtesy of Amazon:
“Legendary director Wes Craven re-invented the slasher-horror genre with this funny, clever and scary first film in the hit franchise. After a series of mysterious deaths, a group of scary movie fans become the target of a masked killer. As the body count begins, it’s clear that the rules must be followed, and everyone’s a suspect.”
The film stars (in semi-alphabetical order) David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan, Skeet Ulrich, and Drew Barrymore, many of whom appeared in subsequent Scream installments. In addition to the film on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and digital, the new release features fun collectables including a replica cordless phone (programmed with “iconic quotes” from the movie), a case file folder, a suspect list, Polaroid suspect photos, and a newspaper clipping.
The 30th Anniversary Edition of Scream will be released on Tuesday, December 15th — pre-order now on Amazon, and be sure to see where the movie lands on the Consequence list of 1996’s best movies.
