Coronation Street has secured Jodie Ramsey's future following a dramatic first year. It seems as though the schemer will be sticking around to stir up more trouble on the cobbles.
According to The Sun, Olivia Frances Brown, who plays Jodie, has signed a new contract with the soap, which will keep her on our screens for another year. Digital Spy understands that show bosses have big plans for the character in 2027.

Jodie was first introduced during the Corriedale crossover as an unidentified woman who was being held captive. Viewers saw her tied up in the back of a van, driven by Emmerdale's Graham Foster.
After escaping the van, it became clear that Jodie had some kind of connection to Shona Platt, and she soon made her way to Weatherfield to reunite with her estranged half-sister.
While Jodie's arrival remained shrouded in mystery, viewers learnt of her strained relationship with Shona. She quickly got her feet under the table at the Platt house and began scheming to take over Shona's life.
Recently, Jodie's scheming has seen her gaslighting Shona to make her believe she is struggling as a new mum. The troublemaker has been trying to cause friction within the family, though David Platt has remained dedicated to supporting his wife.

In next week's episodes, Shona finally discovers that her sister has been tormenting her and the pair have an violent showdown. But when Jodie's gun is brought into the mix, things escalate and an ambulance is called...
With Brown's new contract keeping her on the street for a while, it's unlikely that she will be killed off in the upcoming drama. But will Jodie continue sinking to new lows over the next year? Or could we see a different side to the shady character?
