Malacañang said Wednesday nobody will interfere with the decision of Vice President Sara Duterte to remain on her post amid her impeachment trial, shrugging off her pronouncement that she has no intention of stepping down.
In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said the only thing that is "ridiculous" is Duterte's call for President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. to resign.
(She has no right to demand the President's resignation. The President is working. The President always thinks of the welfare of the country and the people. He does not enter into any secret deals with foreigners to sell out the interests of our fellow citizens.)
(If she chooses not to resign, that is her decision. No one will interfere with that. But for her to say that the President should resign, that is utter nonsense.)
Duterte on Tuesday said she "will not resign, will never resign from the Office of the Vice President" amid her impeachment trial and the allegations against her.
