Translate

Services on the Putrajaya MRT line were disrupted this morning following a cable theft near the Taman Equine station, which caused a power supply loss.

Rapid KL said the incident was detected at about 5.25am after a train was unable to move at the station.

Technical teams were deployed to carry out inspections and repairs to restore the power supply and train services, it said in a statement.

Alternative train services and free shuttle buses have been activated to help passengers continue their journeys.

Trains from Kwasa Damansara will turn back at the UPM station, while trains from UPM will turn back at the 16 Sierra station. Both services are expected to operate at 10-minute intervals.

A shuttle train between 16 Sierra and Putrajaya Sentral will operate at seven-minute intervals.

Free shuttle buses will also run between the Serdang Jaya, UPM, Taman Equine, Putra Permai, 16 Sierra, Cyberjaya Utara, Cyberjaya City Centre and Putrajaya Sentral stations at intervals of 15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

Passengers are expected to face longer waiting times, particularly at UPM, 16 Sierra and Putrajaya Sentral stations.

Those travelling to Sepang via the ERL from Putrajaya Sentral have been advised to allow more time for their journeys or use alternative routes via the ERL stations at KL Sentral or Bandar Tasik Selatan.

Auxiliary police personnel and station staff have also been deployed to platforms and station concourses to assist passengers.

Rapid KL said it viewed the cable theft seriously, as such incidents can affect the smooth running of services and operational safety.

Passengers were advised to check Rapid KL’s social media channels and the MyRapid PULSE app for the latest service updates.
