US singer Post Malone delays Hong Kong concert, sparking fan complaints

American singer and rapper Post Malone has postponed his coming Hong Kong show, prompting complaints from disappointed fans in mainland China who said they had already booked holiday leave and hotels.

Announcing the decision on social media on Thursday, concert organiser Live Nation Hong Kong said the September 16 show at Kai Tak Stadium had been postponed.

The statement, which gave no reason for the move, outlined full refund arrangements for fans who bought tickets through official platforms.

Original ticket prices for the 31-year-old singer’s show at the 50,000-seat stadium ranged from HK$699 (US$90) to HK$3,199.

The news left fans frustrated, with many complaining on social media platforms.

“I’ve already applied for my holiday leave and booked my hotels,” a user on popular mainland social media platform RedNote wrote.

“They just said ‘postponed’ in a single sentence, zero concern for our flight tickets and hotel bookings,” another user added, with some questioning whether ticket sales had underperformed.
