Woman, 90, dies after being stabbed in Bondi unit, another fatally stabbed in Wagga

A woman has died after she was stabbed in a Bondi apartment on Saturday, just metres from a busy pedestrian thoroughfare and the beach.

A 47-year-old man has been arrested after police were called to the unit in Chambers Avenue about 5.15pm on Saturday, following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended and found a woman aged in her 90s with significant injuries.

She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene.

The man, who is believed to be known to the woman, was arrested and has been taken to Surry Hills police station.

Police have established a crime scene and detectives have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
