Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Sue My Chemical Romance Over Uniforms

Fate of America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders After Season 3 Revealed

My Chemical Romance is facing legal trouble.

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders’ parent company Pro Silver Star filed a motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against the rock band on Oct. 23 after they performed with dancers in costumes resembling the cheerleading team’s uniforms during a recent concert, according to court documents obtained by NBC News.

Pro Silver Star alleges in the docs that during the band’s opening night at the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 21, they had a line of female dancers dressed in “counterfeit uniforms” resembling those of the DCC cheerleaders as the group performed their 2006 song “Teenagers.”

The company claims the dancers’ outfits were made of the “signature elements” that make up the iconic DCC get-up, including white boots and a white vest with blue stars.

Footage of the performance shared to social media also shows the performers dancing with blue and white pom-poms.

According to the filing, the dancers were handed rifles onstage and performed a staged shootout before they were “depicted being shot and crawling off the stage.”

“The brand DCC built on dedication, character, and community, and on decades of entertaining American troops,” Pro Silver Star said in the docs, per Today, “was thus put on a stage in a gunfight, its uniform worn by performers shown shooting and being shot.”

E! News has reached out to reps for Pro Silver Star and My Chemical Romance for comment but has not yet heard back.

The company alleges that the near-identical costumes led spectators to believe that the women dancing were in fact part of the DCC organization.

“Audience members and online commentators understandably believed that the performers were the real Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders," Pro Silver Star said in the docs, per NBC News, “and said so in social media posts that continue to circulate.”

And while the organization said it was “not litigious” and “takes no issue with MCR’s music, its artistic ambitions, or any message Defendants seek to convey,” they only ask “that those performers not wear the DCC Uniform while doing it.”
