There is just four days left of the summer window, meaning time is running out for the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham to finalise deals before Tuesday’s deadline. The three biggest deals in the offing could see Julian Alvarez join the Gunners, as Liverpool book a medical for Bradley Barcola and Enzo Fernandez pushes to join Man City.

The Gunners have been handed a deadline of Sunday to wrap up the signing of Alvarez, to allow Atletico Madrid to sign a replacement. They have been linked with Gabriel Jesus in a intriguing transfer twist, while fresh links with Marcus Rashford have emerged as Gabriel Martinelli heads to Saudi Arabia. Liverpool have missed out on Ibrahim Mbaye, but are still pushing to sign Ismailia Sarr before the deadline.

Arsenal go back in for Endrick

Arsenal have reportedly made a fresh enquiry about Real Madrid forward Endrick as they continue their search for a new left-sided attacker.

According to TEAMtalk, the Gunners are assessing several options and have also identified two alternative targets to Julian Alvarez. Arda Guler has also been mentioned in talks with Madrid.

Real Madrid’s stance on Endrick remains a key factor, with the Brazilian youngster facing increased competition for places at the Bernabeu.

Marseille’s Igor Paixao is another new name being mentioned, along with Lyon’s Malick Fofana.

Bradley Barcola set for Liverpool medical

Bradley Barcola is ready to have his Liverpool medical after Paris Saint-Germain accepted a bid worth more than £110million for him.

The 23-year-old is expected to travel to Merseyside for a medical once he gets the green light from PSG, which is imminent.

Only minor details are now left to finalise as Liverpool wrap up a third deal worth well over £100m in a little over a year.

Because of registration requirements, Barcola will not be available for Liverpool's game against Nottingham Forest, regardless of when the transfer is officially announced.

Liverpool's next fixture, an away match against Ipswich on Friday, September 4, has been earmarked as Barcola's debut.

Next Arsenal transfer imminent

Habeeb Ogunneye has bid farewell to Manchester United ahead of completing a transfer to Arsenal.

Standard Sport understands Arsenal have secured the services of the defender after reaching a full agreement with Man United last week.

Furthermore, Ogunneye was at the Arsenal's training ground last Thursday to undergo a medical and the 20-year-old right-back will sign for the Gunners on a free transfer that includes a 40 per cent sell-on clause.

It is understood that Ogunneye will primarily be involved with the Arsenal under-21s, but he is also set to get opportunities to train with the first-team.

While there has yet to be an official announcement of the transfer, Ogunneye has now all but confirmed the move with a farewell post to Man Utd on Instagram.

Chelsea learn Camara asking price

Chelsea have been told how much it will cost to sign Lamine Camara this summer.

Standard Sport understands the Blues are considering making an opening offer for the Monaco midfielder before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

The Senegal star was the subject for a rejected bid, worth around £43million, from Crystal Palace earlier in the summer and reports in France claim Monaco are holding out for €60m (£51m).

Patrice Evra knows a thing or two about Manchester United left-backs and he believes his former club need to move on from Luke Shaw.

“I love Luke Shaw, but I love Man United even more, that’s why I’m saying they need another left-back.

“Patrick Dorgu is not a left-back, he’s a left-winger.

"[Lewis Hall] is a great player, we’re talking about consistency. In the game against Liverpool, he gave away a penalty, but I don’t care. He gives you 90 minutes, guaranteed, that’s the kind of left-back Man United need.

“Before me, Denis Irwin was Man United’s best left-back, he could score goals and play either side, and every game.

“Since I’ve left, Man United have had 20 people play in my position, no one has replaced me. Why? Consistency- that’s what is missing at Man United. The best left-back Man United have had since I’ve left is Ashley Young."

Chelsea loan deal terminated

Chelsea youngster Kendry Paez has had his loan spell with River Plate terminated.

Paez spent the first half of last season at Strasbourg before moving to Argentina in January on a one-year loan deal.

However, reports claim the 19-year-old is now heading back to Chelsea, earlier than expected to discuss his next steps.

Gabriel Jesus offered to Atletico Madrid

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has been offered to Atletico Madrid, according to reports in Spain.

Interestingly, Marca claim that while there has been contact between Atletico and the Brazilian, any potential deal has nothing to do with Julian Alvarez.

Of course, Arsenal's interest in the Argentine is well known but it still remains to be seen if he will agree to return to England.

Standard Sport understands Arsenal are open to selling Jesus before the end of the window and want up to £20million.

Tottenham's owners praised

Roberto De Zerbi admits that Tottenham’s remarkable summer spending spree would not have taken place were it not for the ambition of the club’s owners.

Spurs have spent in excess of £300million this summer to overhaul their squad, and this week announced the signings of Manchester City duo Omar Marmoush and Savio.

De Zerbi has rightly earned plenty of plaudits for his role in convincing the likes of Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali and Jan Paul van Hecke to join the club so soon after the club narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship.

From calling Van Hecke the moment after Spurs secured safety about the possibility of a transfer to conversations with Fernandes’ parents, De Zerbi’s influence in the transfer window has been notable.

When asked, though, how important he had been to Spurs’ aggressive approach in the transfer market, the Spurs boss instead elected to praise the club’s owners, the Lewis Family, for bankrolling his vision.

Patrice Evra is not usually so forthcoming in praise for Arsenal, but he feels a move for Julian Alvarez would be a huge statement.

“If Julian Alvarez joins Arsenal, then it’s game over. I always say, if Arsenal have four good strikers, as Man United did with Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez, Dimitar Berbatov and Cristiano Ronaldo, that’s the kind of squad you need to keep winning and winning.

“Mikel Arteta is not here to play around, he’s trying to show that last season was not an accident, and he wants to win more trophies. That's why Arsenal are linked with these players.

“To win the Champions League, like we did twice but lost to Barcelona in a final, you need a massive squad.”

Hull make Fofana bid

How about this for ambition?

Premier League newboys have submitted a €35million (£29m) verbal bid to sign Malick Fofana from Lyon.

That is according to Foot Mercato in France.

In a potential boost for Hull, Fofana had previously said that he’d be keen to extend his stay with Lyon if they secured Champions League qualification.

However, the French side fell at the last hurdle against Fenerbahce in the play-offs.
