Mapua Laguna to intensify campus security after reported concern

Mapua Malayan Colleges Laguna suspended its face-to-face classes and shifted to online classes on Thursday, October 1, due to a reported security concern in its campus.

MANILA, Philippines — Mapua Malayan Colleges Laguna said Thursday evening, Oct. 1, that it would increase campus security measures following a reported concern earlier that prompted the suspension of in-person classes.

In a statement, Mapua said the Philippine National Police and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council had cleared the premises of any immediate threat related to the reported concern.

It did not, however, provide details about the security issue.

“To ensure campus safety, we have increased security measures across all locations and entrances and are actively tracking developments,” it said.
